Fulham will reportedly attempt to make Derby County loanee Chris Martin’s stay at Craven Cottage a permanent one.
A report from the Daily Record today suggests that Fulham are hoping to seal the £9 million permanent transfer of on-loan star Chris Martin in January.
The Scotland international moved to Craven Cottage from Derby County in the summer on a season long loan deal, but the contract included an option for Fulham to buy the 28-year-old, which they now will reportedly activate during the winter transfer window.

Martin has impressed during his time with the Cottagers, and has scored six goals in 14 Championship outings for his club, which has helped them climb to 10th position in the table, just three points behind the play-off promotion spots.
And now the Daily Record are reporting that Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is keen on turning Martin’s temporary stay into a permanent one, with the Scottish newspaper quoting him as saying:

“It’s not in my hands. My opinion is we need to sign a permanent deal with him. This is my opinion. It’s a decision that is in the hands of the club. He’s a target man and we need to connect with him.”
If the Cottagers are to continue their push for promotion this season, they will need Martin to be at his very best, and hope that they can keep him fit for the remainder of the campaign, because his physical presence gives them something that no other player in the Fulham squad can provide.
