Everton are one of several clubs credited with interest in the West Bromwich Albion defender.

Everton appear to have admitted defeat in their pursuit of Jonny Evans’ signature, as Arsenal and Manchester City make approaches for the West Bromwich Albion centre-back.
The Telegraph reports that Everton are ‘among a number of other [Evans] suitors’, but adds that there’s a recognition they cannot compete with Arsenal or Manchester City for the 30-year-old, who ‘wants European football and the chance to compete at the top again’.
It is claimed that West Brom want £25 million to part with Evans, who has 18 months left on his contract and ‘indicated that he would be unwilling to sign a new deal’.
However, it is suggested that Arsenal and City could use either Mathieu Debuchy or Eliaquim Mangala respectively, as makeweights in any deal for the former Manchester United man.

Everton have moved quickly to strengthen their attacking options, recruiting Cenk Tosun from Besiktas JK. And some Toffees fans believe that a defender should also feature on their club’s agenda, as well as a defensive midfielder.
Who should Everton target instead of West Brom’s Evans?
