The Everton summer signing is set to miss the rest of the season, but a report suggests that he could now be set for even longer on the sidelines.
A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Everton could be without Yannick Bolasie for over a year after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
The 27-year-old had to be taken off during the Toffees’ recent clash with Manchester United, and while the Mirror reports that initial predictions about the injury suggested that he could be out for up to nine months, it appears that the situation may, in fact, be slightly worse.
Everton’s Yannick Bolasie
The Mirror reports that the summer signing – who arrived at Goodison Park for £29m (via Mirror) – is facing even longer on the sidelines, and January 2018 may now be the time he looks to return.
Should that prove to be the case, it will undoubtedly be a massive blow to Ronald Koeman’s side. Bolasie has taken little time to settle in to his new surroundings following his move from Crystal Palace.
As well as the one goal he has scored, he has proved to be one of the top flight’s most prolific assist-makers this term, with four to his name already.
And Koeman will be hoping that Bolasie takes little time to rediscover that form once he does finally return as he should still be able to justify why the club spent so much money on him in the first place.
