Reports in Algeria are suggesting that former Watford defender Essaid Belkalem could be a free agent option for Leeds United.
La Gazette du Fennec reports that Belkalem mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the Hornets last week after failing to be a part of the plans at the club for some time now.

A reported move to Dinamo Bucharest earlier this week failed to materialise and LGdF now suggests Leeds United could be an option for the player.
However, the same report also quotes a source close to the player as suggesting he would prefer France or Turkey.
Leeds are on the lookout for central defenders available for free, after Sol Bamba had his contract terminated by mutual consent – leaving the club with Kyle Barltey, Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson as centre-back options.

Belkalem has not played for Watford since April 2014 but was part of the Algeria team that impressed at the World Cup in 2014 and spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Trabzonspor.
In terms of centre-back options available to Leeds, they could do a lot worse than Belkalem.
But his lack of action in recent months would certainly be a concern if Leeds were to make a move for his services.
