The Middlesbrough striker looks likely to go out on loan in the winter.

It has been reported this week that Leeds United are one of the teams interested in bringing in Middlesbrough striker David Nugent this winter.

The Northern Echo report that the striker is being considered by both Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday with former club Preston North End also keen.

Now it is reported that of the teams interested in the player Nugent would most want to join Leeds. The Sun report that the Middlesbrough striker has informed friends that he would like a move to Leeds.

He is said to be keen on the move as it would mean not having to move home for the final six months of the season and he would get plenty of game time at Elland Road.

Leeds are on the hunt for a new striker and Nugent might just fit the bill. If he did head to Elland Road he would be teaming up with a former team-mate in ex-Leicester strike partner Chris Wood.

Middlesbrough are likely to be looking for more striking options this winter, which would push Nugent further down the pecking order and it appears that Leeds could be a definite option for the one-time England international.
