Celtic appear to have taken their preparations for the January transfer window to the next level.

A report in the Daily Record has suggested that Celtic have sent scouts to watch Anderlecht’s top flight clash with Eupen on Sunday as they seemingly kick their preparations for the January transfer window into top gear.

The Hoops have made a brilliant start to the campaign, and already look to have the Scottish Premiership title in the bag. Their form has not only arguably given Brendan Rodgers the right to switch his attention to next month’s window, but to also concentrate on targets that may make little impact at Parkhead initially but have the potential to flourish in the long-term.

The Record states that the Hoops have sent representatives to the Jupiler League contest. And while it is not known who, if anyone, they had specifically gone to watch closely, there are a number of talented players on show, including the likes of Youri Tielemans and Nicolae Stanciu, both of whom currently play for the home side.

One such player who perhaps also deserves their attention is Eupen’s Henry Onyekuru.

The 19-year-old striker has enjoyed an excellent season so far, scoring eight times in 18 games going into the clash with Anderlecht.

And given the success that Moussa Dembele had enjoyed during his time with Fulham and how well he has subsequently adapted to life with Celtic, it would hardly be a surprise if Rodgers was weighing up whether Onyekuru had the potential to follow in the Frenchman’s footsteps and make a big impact in Scotland.
