The Chelsea youngster, Callum Hudson-Odoi, could emerge as a January target for Burnley and Southampton, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster claims both clubs are keen to add a winger in the winter window, with English recruits preferred.

And it adds that Chelsea are ready to sanction a loan move – but only to teams in the Premier League’s bottom half.

That would rule in Burnley and Southampton, both of whom have suffered slow starts to the new campaign.

While neither the Clarets nor Saints have used up their allocation of two domestic loans this season.

Hudson-Odoi started Chelsea’s Community Shield defeat to Manchester City, although he has only appeared twice since then, both times as a substitute in Europa League matches.

The Wandsworth-born 18-year-old made his Blues debut in January of this year and has been capped by England at up to and including under-19 level.

Should Hudson-Odoi consider a temporary switch to Burnley or Southampton?
