Earlier this week it was reported that Sunderland may be making a move to bring in Barcelona full-back Aleix Vidal in the winter.
It was reported by Mundo Deportivo that Sunderland were one of five clubs to be keeping an eye on Vidal ahead of a potential loan move in January. He only joined up with Barcelona from Sevilla last summer but had to wait six months for his debut because of the transfer embargo at the club.
He has since struggled to make an impact at Barcelona and Mundo Deportivo suggested Sunderland were keen.
It is now reported by L’Equipe that Barcelona are open to letting Vidal leave on loan in the new year.

The report claims that Barcelona are happy for him to play regularly elsewhere for the time being, as he is not in the regular first-team plans of manager Luis Enrique.
Sunderland have had a tough start to the season and will need to improve in the winter if they are to survive in the Premier League yet again this season.
Vidal would be such a signing.
