Aston Villa reportedly want Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips.

Aston Villa will firm up their interest in Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips with a bid towards the end of the month, according to The Express & Star.

It has been reported that Villa will step up their transfer business towards the end of the month, with the promoted Premier League outfit to make a formal bid for Leeds star Phillips.

A recent report in The Mirror claimed that Villa are planning to make a bid of £14 million for the 23-year-old, but the Whites will look for at least £20m before even considering selling him..

Good signing for Aston Villa?

Phillips is one of the best central midfielders in the Championship and was superb for Leeds this past season.

The youngster also operated as a central defender at times in 2018-19, and his progress under Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been astounding.

Villa would be signing a very promising player who can only get better in Phillips, but one suspects that Leeds will not make it easy for Dean Smith’s side to prise away one of their most prized assets.
