Aston Villa are joined by Birmingham City in the race to former Chelsea skipper John Terry.

A report in the Birmingham Mail has suggested that John Terry could make a decision on his future by this weekend as Aston Villa, Birmingham and West Brom await his decision.
Terry is a free agent after leaving Chelsea following their Premier League title win this past season, and the Mail reports that he is attracting attention from the Baggies as well as the Championship pair.
The Mail adds that the Villans have offered the 36-year-old a lucrative deal to try and tempt him to make the switch to Villa Park, with a decision on the offer potentially set to made before the weekend.
It would arguably be a tremendous piece of business for Villa if they were able to bring Terry in – even though his wages may take a large chunk out of Steve Bruce’s budget.

His experience will be invaluable for Villa as they try to get themselves back in the top flight, even if he is unable to replicate the form and consistency that saw him establish himself as arguably one of the best centre-backs the Premier League has seen.
And beating both Birmingham and West Brom to his signature – if he does decide to make the switch – will surely prove a tremendous statement of intent from Villa this summer.
