Brendan Rodgers’ son Anton was a surprise inclusion in the Celtic squad that travelled for their pre-season tour.
A report in the Daily Record has suggested that Celtic currently have no plans to hand Anton Rodgers a contract at Parkhead despite Brendan Rodgers’ son being included in the Hoops squad for their pre-season tour.
Celtic are heading to Linz and Prague for a nine-day spell that includes three friendlies as they continue their preparations for their Champions League qualifier with Linfield in mid-July.

Bhoys supporters may have been surprised when they saw the pictures of the squad arriving at the airport before the trip as amongst the team was the manager’s son Anton – who is unattached after leaving Swindon Town at the end of last season.
But before they potentially expect a new signing, the Daily Record has confirmed that Rodgers is not expected to join the club, and his involvement in the squad is simply to help him build his fitness up as he tries to find another club.
Celtic have been quiet so far during this transfer window, with Jonny Hayes proving to be the only arrival at the club so far this summer.
But with the side so dominant domestically during the previous campaign, it is hardly a surprise that Brendan Rodgers has not felt the need to sign a number of players as it is surely now quality rather than quantity that will help them make more of an impression in Europe.
