According to The Athletic, James Tarkowski wants to leave Burnley, amid reported interest from West Ham United.
Tarkowski is out of contract at Burnley in the summer of 2022, and the report has suggested that the England international central defender wants to test himself at a higher level.
The Daily Star reported in October that West Ham wanted to sign the 28-year-old in the summer of 2020 and remain keen on the Burnley star.
Joining West Ham United
It is hard to see Burnley sell Tarkowski in the January transfer window, especially with Sean Dyche’s side in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
It seems that the defender will leave the Clarets at some point in the future, and West Ham should pounce in the summer of 2021.
The Englishman is at the top of his game and is at his peak, and he would make David Moyes’s team better and stronger at the back.
Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Angelo Ogbonna, Craig Dawson, Winston Reid and Frederik Alves are the recognised centre-backs on the books of West Ham at the moment.
