Lyon are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to bring former Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor to the club.

Former Spurs and Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor is on the verge on joining French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon, according to the Daily Mail.
The 32-year-old Togolese has been some what of an enigma since his arrival in English football in 2006, when he moved to Arsenal from Monaco.
Many feel that his perceived lazy attitude and lack of interest in team ethic has prevented him from reaching the levels that his ability suggests he was capable of.

The Daily Mail report that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says they are close to signing ‘an experienced and ambitious’ attacker, and claim that Adebayor is flying to France with a view to signing a deal with the seven-time French Ligue 1 champions.
Adebayor’s time in England has seen him score 124 goals in 315 appearances for four different clubs, and he possesses the attributes that will enable him to be a success in the slower paced French league.

Lyon currently sit in eighth position in Ligue 1 after opening their campaign with two wins and two losses, and are obviously looking to bolster their attacking options after becoming too heavily reliant on the currently injured Alexandre Lacazette.
