Crystal Palace are interested in signing Yohan Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain this summer but they have problems with his wage, according to The Mirror.
It has been reported by the British newspaper that Premier League outfit Palace have “set a £60,000-a-week salary limit on any signings”.
Cabaye allegedly earns more than that at French giants PSG, which means that agreement over a deal could be a problem.
Leaving the Ligue 1 champions for Palace would be a step down for Cabaye, and it would be a blow for him if he has to take a pay-cut as well.
However, the fact that the former Lille midfielder wants to play regular football could play a role in his final decision.
Moreover, Cabaye has worked with Palace manager Alan Pardew at Premier League rivals Newcastle United – this could also be a favourable factor for the Eagles.
The 29-year-old France international scored one goal and created nine chances in 24 Ligue 1 appearances in the recently concluded 2014-15 season.
In five Champions League matches, Cabaye failed to score or create a single chance, and had a pass accuracy of 89% and a shot accuracy of 33%.
