Paris Saint-Germain are struggling to find a buyer for reported Arsenal target Julian Draxler with his £120,000-a-week wages proving to be a substantial stumbling block, according to BuzzSport.

At the age of 26, Draxler already has a CV that most players can only dream of.

He has won eight trophies since joining PSG three years ago, while helping Germany conquer the World in 2014.

And, if you’re interested in that kind of thing, he also captained Joachim Low’s side to glory at the 2017 Confederations Cup.

But the longer Draxler continues gathering dust on the Parc des Princes bench, the more his star will dim.

The 51-cap international playmaker started just seven Ligue 1 games in 2019/20 and there is a nagging feeling that, if he wants to progress as a footballer, he needs to take a step backwards, a la Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez after they departed Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

A club like Arsenal, who have been linked via Fussball Transfers, feels like the ideal destination for a player who would shine as the creative lynchpin of Mikel Arteta’s new-look side.

But, according to BuzzSport, finding a buyer for Draxler in this market is proving to be all-but impossible.

The report claims that PSG’s sporting director Leonardo cannot sign his top targets until he raises funds via player sales – and, as long as the £30 million Draxler sticks around, PSG’s transfer plans will be kept in statis.

Currently taking home £120,000-a-week, one of the finest creative midfielders in the game would more than likely have to accept a sizeable wage cut if he wants to join Arsenal this summer.
