Christopher Nkunku is happy at RB Leipzig and has yet to hold talks with Arsenal regarding a potential summer switch to the Premier League, as reported by BILD.
Speaking nine months ago, a few weeks before Julian Nagelsmann’s high-pressing machine malfunctioned in their Champions League semi-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, Nkunku laid out his plans.
“I haven’t come to Leipzig just to disappear right away. I’m not running off to a bigger club. I want to win something with RB Leipzig,” said the one-time PSG youngster.
So, unless things have changed dramatically between July 2020 and April 2021, we can only assume Nkunku plans to stay for at least another year at the Red Bull Arena.
A 1-0 home defeat to Bundesliga title-rivals Bayern Munich at the weekend means Leipzig will have to settle for the title of ‘best of the rest’ for yet another season.
If Nkunku wants to conquer Germany before moving to pastures new, he has little choice but to stick around for the long haul as Bayern canter towards a ninth successive domestic crown.

BILD says the fleet-footed 22-year-old “feels at home” in Leipzig and has little interest in a summer departure.
This comes after Arsenal were linked with a £30 million swoop for a player who first registered on their radar in 2019 – when his former PSG coach Unai Emery was sitting in the Emirates dugout (Sky).
But, according to BILD, Arsenal haven’t held talks with Nkunku. And, even if they do attempt to open negotiations, Mikel Arteta’s tenth-placed side may be greeted by a blunt response.
