Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles seemingly thinks he will be playing in the Community Shield final, despite being heavily linked with a move away, the Daily Mirror suggest.

Maitland-Niles has been the subject of heavy interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in recent days, with Nuno’s side actually submitting their first offer for the 22-year-old recently.

However, Maitland-Niles does not want the rumours over his future to serve as a distraction.

The youngster is apparently simply concentrating on the Community Shield final, which takes place this weekend, which suggests he thinks he’s going to feature for Arsenal.

The Gunners are set to take on Liverpool, so if Maitland-Niles does start, he will need to be fully focused to come through the test.

Maitland-Niles is likely to come up against Sadio Mane if he is given the nod to start at right-back, which is a huge challenge for any defender.

Whether Maitland-Niles will actually be at the Emirates Stadium by the weekend remains to be seen though.

Wolves seem set on signing him, and with Arsenal looking to raise funds, the Mirror suggests that he could well be sold in the near future.
