Patson Daka wants to stay and hone his talents at Red Bull Salzburg despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, according to Football London.
Jose Mourinho is convinced a new striker will arrive in north London between now and the October transfer deadline.
“I want, I need a striker,” the Spurs boss admitted to the Standard. “But I want to make it very clear that the club – the structure above me – knows I need a striker and also wants a striker.
“Are we going to get one? I honestly believe so.”
Whatever the identify of this mystery number nine, we can pretty much rule out the idea of Daka swapping Salzburg for the English capital at this stage.
FL claims Tottenham are big fans of the £20 million-rated frontman, who has also been tipped to reunite with former Salzburg teammate Takumi Minamino at Anfield (Far Post).
But Daka, at the age of 21, obviously doesn’t think the time is right to compete with captain Harry Kane for the one and only striker spot in Mourinho’s team.

Because, according to Football London, the so-called “next Thierry Henry” plans to reject all offers from England this summer to continue his rapid rise at the reigning Austrian champions.
And that may be an inspired decision, given the likes of Fernando Llorente have found it impossible to oust a fully fit Kane from Tottenham’s starting XI.
Daka, whose agent is former Spurs ace Freddie Kanoute, scored 27 times during a breakthrough 2019/20 campaign and began this season with four goals in a single Austrian Cup game.
