According to Fanatik, Alexander Sorloth has turned down the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the Crystal Palace-owned striker did not want to play second fiddle to England international Harry Kane at Tottenham, despite the North London club’s interest in signing him this summer.

The 24-year-old has instead decided to move to RB Leipzig, with an agreement being reached in principle, according to the report.

The Bundesliga club will pay €24 million (£22 million) in transfer fees for the Norway international striker, with €12 million (£11 million) each going to Palace and Trabzonspor.

The 24-year-old striker joined Turkish club Trabzonspor on a two-year loan deal from Palace in the summer of 2019.

Disappointment for Tottenham Hotspur

Sorloth reportedly turning down Tottenham will come as a blow for head coach Jose Mourinho, who needs to sign a new striker this summer.

True, Kane is a world-class striker, but the England international needs support and cannot be expected to play in each and every game.

Sorloth scored 24 goals and provided eight assists in 34 league games in Turkey last season, according to WhoScored.

Missing out on Arkadiusz Milik

Tottenham also appear to have missed out on another striker, Arkadiusz Milik.

According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, Milik has undergone a medical at AS Roma and will join the Italian club from Serie A rivals Napoli on a season-long loan deal after signing a contract extension at the Neapolitan outfit.

The Express reported this month that Tottenham want to sign the Poland international striker this summer.
