Celtic and Stoke City have reportedly turned their attention to George Baldock after both missed out on Jack Stacey.

According to a report from The Sun, Stoke have joined Celtic in the race to sign George Baldock from Sheffield United with both clubs reportedly set to miss out on Jack Stacey.
BBC Sport reports that Stacey is set to undergo a medical with Bournemouth after the Premier League side agreed a £4 million fee with Luton Town for the 23-year-old.
The Sun reports that the Scottish Premiership champions and the Potters had both wanted to sign Stacey. And while the Hoops’ interest in Baldock has already been reported during this window, it is now being suggested that Stoke have also turned their attention to the Blades star.
The Sun adds that he is rated at just £1.5 million. It would arguably be a surprise if Chris Wilder’s men were willing to sell for that price, but it does suggest that there could be the potential for a good piece of business to be done.

Baldock was superb as Sheffield United won promotion to the Premier League last season. He could be a fantastic addition to Celtic’s squad if Neil Lennon is able to get a deal done with the Bhoys desperately needing to sign a new right-back before the new campaign commences.
But with Stoke also coming to terms with a reported target closing in on a move elsewhere, Celtic may have to work a little harder, and perhaps expect to pay a little extra, if they hope to get the Sheffield United man through the Parkhead door.
