Stoke City are ready to trigger Mimoun Mahi’s release clause, but Swansea City, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest are also in the hunt, according to the Sun.

Moroccan forward Mahi, who plays for Dutch side FC Groningen, is reportedly available for £2 million.

The 23-year-old scored 17 goals from the wing last season and has already found the net five times in nine outings this campaign.

Lee Johnson the manager of Bristol City during the pre season match between Bristol City and FC Twente at Ashton Gate on July 28, 2017 in Bristol, England.

Bristol City are said to have bid for Mahi during the summer transfer window, but they, along with Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, could find top flight interest from Stoke and Swansea hard to contend with.

Nevertheless, with Stoke and Swansea enduring difficult starts to their respective league campaigns – both sit outside the relegation places on goal difference only – a move to the seventh-placed Robins may appeal.

Forest are currently 12th in the second tier, but only three points behind Bristol City.

Mahi was recently linked with a move to Leeds United, although the Whites are not mentioned in the Sun’s report.

Stoke, Swansea, Bristol City, Nottingham Forest or other – where will Mahi end up?
