Interest is high in James Chester, with Stoke City the latest club reportedly keeping tabs on the Aston Villa defender.
Stoke City are the latest club to be linked with James Chester, reports the Telegraph, as Aston Villa look set to sell the defender in order to raise funds.
The Villans could have to raise up to £50m (and at least £40m) over the next two transfer windows in order to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
This means selling some of their best players and that includes Chester, who it is thought could fetch around £10m in the current market.
Brighton and Hove Albion are also keeping tabs on the Wales international alongside Stoke – who are on the hunt for personnel for their new manager Gary Rowett following the Potters’ relegation from the Premier League.
Chester has spent the past two years at Villa Park after joining from Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion following the Birmingham club’s own drop into the Championship in 2016.
The 29-year-old played every single one of Villa’s league and playoff matches in 2017/18, with them eventually missing out on promotion back to the top flight after losing 1-0 to Fulham in the final.
