Stoke interested in bringing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho to the Bet365 Stadium.

Stoke City have entered the race to sign Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho this summer, but are not willing to pay the current asking price, according to the Daily Star.

The 26-year-old is not longer wanted by manager Juergen Klopp at Anfield and failed to make a single competitive appearance for the club in 2016/17.

Sakho did, however, impress while on loan at Crystal Palace in the second half of last season, but the Eagles do not look likely to sign the Frenchman permanently.

Currently the Reds value the centre-back at around £30m, which is a price that Stoke are unwilling to pay and will need the Merseysiders to lower it if any deal is to go through.

Sakho joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2013 and has since played 80 games for the club in all competitions.

Whether or not the France international stays in the Premier League remains to be seen, but it looks almost certain he will not be at Anfield come the end of the transfer window.
