The USA teenager is not set to feature regularly for Dortmund this term and a loan deal is being sought so he can continue his progression.

Stoke see the attacking midfielder as a potentially impressive addition to their squad and would be bringing in a precocious talent if they did finalise any deal.

The 17-year-old has been in superb form throughout pre-season for Dortmund. He has had a breakthrough year so far. He made his Bundesliga debut in February and has since gone on to score twice in 12 appearances for the club.

He has also become a regular in the USA national team. He has six caps and scored in a friendly v Bolivia in May – becoming his nation’s youngest ever scorer.

Stoke would no doubt have a star on their hands if they do manage to persuade Pulisic to the Potteries.
