Stoke City are reportedly considering a formal move for Newcastle United defender, Paul Dummett, in the summer transfer window.
According to reports in The Chronicle, the Potters are pondering a bid for the Newcastle left-back.
Mark Hughes has claimed earlier this season that he would be looking to bolster the defence this summer. The reports suggest that they have “carried out their checks” on the left-back already.

In recent weeks, Stoke City have been linked with Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs, also a target for Newcastle United, but his reported £15million price tag and wage demands in excess of £60k-per-week are proving to be a stumbling block.
Dummett represents a more realistic option. He has just a year left on his current Newcastle deal, and could be available in the region of £3m, according to Stoke Sentinel.
