The Stoke-born midfielder is a target for Paul Lambert in the January transfer window.

An initial bid of £3.25m was rejected by the American franchise but Stoke are trying to get a deal done before the close of the January transfer window, according to The Sentinel.

Harrison was born in Stoke before emigrating to the United States as a teenager, and represents England at youth level, making his Under-21 debut last year.
The 21-year-old also has family who remained in Staffordshire and the Potters are hoping that ties to home could persuade him to move to the Britannia Stadium.

The Sentinel understands that West Ham United and Leicester City are also monitoring Harrison, who has scored 14 goals and supplied 10 assists in 55 MLS appearances.
Stoke have already made two signings this month, bringing in full-backs Moritz Bauer from Rubin Kazan and Kostas Stafylidis, on loan from Augsburg for the rest of the season.
