Stoke City have reportedly joined Swansea City in the battle to sign Nacer Chadli.
Tottenham’s Nacer Chadli
According to The Mirror, Stoke City have entered the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli, joining Swansea City in the battle for his signature.
Chadli, 26, joined Spurs from Dutch side FC Twente back in the summer of 2013, and has actually been a solid goalscorer for Tottenham ever since his move.
The Belgian international has hit 25 goals in 119 games for Spurs – a record better than one goal in every five games – but now looks set to leave White Hart Lane after three years with the club.
Chadli started just ten Premier League games last season, and is now behind the likes of Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min in the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino.
Chadli is bound to attract interest, and The Mirror now report that whilst Swansea City are keen to sign Chadli, Stoke City have now joined the race for his signature.
The Potters know that Marko Arnautovic is entering the final year of his contract, and Mark Hughes may be lining up Chadli as a potential replacement on the left hand side of midfield.
It’s claimed that Spurs value Chadli at around £15m, meaning any Premier League club would have to fork out big money to sign the Belgian, despite his lack of first-team football last season.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will be hoping for a bidding war between Swansea and Stoke, and it’s believed that whilst Chadli is away in Australia with Spurs right now, he’s expected to leave the club upon his return to London.
