Stewart Donald has reportedly decided to lower his demands for his stake in Sunderland.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (21/7; page 63), Stewart Donald is now talking to new parties interested in buying Sunderland having dropped his asking price for his stake in the League One club.
The Sun on Sunday reports that Donald initially wanted more than £30 million for the Black Cats, but Mark Campbell’s consortium have reportedly backed away from discussions over a potential buyout.
But it appears that Donald is determined to see a deal done, with The Sun on Sunday (21/7; page 63) reporting that he is now prepared to accept a lower amount for his shares as he holds talks with a new bidder.
It may be encouraging for Sunderland fans to hear that Donald is willing to accept a lower price for the club to try and get a deal done quickly. So far, Jack Ross’ summer has been spent signing players on free transfers, and it would not be a big surprise if that was largely down to the current uncertainty at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats came agonisingly close to sealing promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking last season, but they did appear to run out of steam towards the end of the campaign.
They won one of their final seven games at the end of the regular season. It was a run that cost Ross’ men a chance to seal automatic-promotion, so the fans would have been hoping to see some statements in the transfer market this summer as they look to go one better next year.
