Sunderland are aiming to win promotion to the Championship via the League One playoffs.

According to The Northern Echo, Sunderland owner Stewart Donald does not plan to sell the club.
The report, though, has claimed that Donald wants outside investment in the club, and that he is in discussions regarding it.
It has been reported that the Sunderland owner has no intention of selling the Black Cats, and that he is keen on including investors in the set-up for future investment.
Encouraging update
Sunderland are a massive club, and if the Black Cats are able to win promotion to the Championship for the 2019-20 campaign via the League One playoffs, then their value will only go higher.
It is very encouraging that Donald does not reportedly plan to sell Sunderland, as he has been good for the Black Cats.

The size and potential of Sunderland is huge, and if Donald is able to bring in outside investment, then it is only going to take the club back towards the Premier League.
What Sunderland now need is for the players to do their business on the pitch and negotiate through the League One playoffs.
