Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to bring Carlos Mendes Gomes to Ibrox in the summer of 2021, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that Rangers have watched the winger a number of times this season and have also contacted his club Morecambe.

The 22-year-old former Atletico Madrid prospect is out of contract at the end of the season, and Rangers reportedly want to secure his services on a free transfer.

Carlos Mendes Gomes Stats

Mendes Gomes has been on the books of Morecambe since 2018 and has been very good for the English club over the years.

The 22-year-old plays predominately as a right winger, and scores goals and creates chances for his teammates.

According to WhoScored, the Spaniard has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 37 League Two games so far this season.

Good signing for Rangers?

Mendes Gomes has done well in League Two in England, and it is safe to say that he can still improve given that he is 22 years of age.

The Spanish winger would be a smart signing for Rangers, especially on a free transfer.
