It has been reported that Toluca and Pumas are interested in signing Herrera from Rangers in the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old forward, though, would prefer to stay in Europe to return to his native Mexico, according to The Express.

The report has also reported that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to offload the Mexico international forward, who would consider a loan move in another European league although he is happy to remain at Ibrox.
Time to move on
Herrera has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2017 when he joined from UNAM for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £1.5 million.

The Mexico international forward scored one goal in 19 Scottish Premiership appearances for the Gers last season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 29-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Rangers, and it is hard to see him play an important role for Gerrard’s side next season.
