Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are interested in bringing Josh Laurent from Reading to Ibrox, according to The Sun.
It has been reported that Rangers believe that the Reading midfielder ‘could be the ideal signing’ to strengthen the team in their quest to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Rangers manager Gerrard has been impressed by the way the 26-year-old has dominated midfield in the Championship this season, according to the report, which has added that Brighton and Hove Albion are also looking at him as a potential replacement for Liverpool and Arsenal target Yves Bissouma.
The report has claimed Rangers would have to pay £8 million as transfer fee for the 26-year-old former Shrewsbury Town.
Laurent joined Reading on a two-year contract last summer and has been very good for the Royals.

The 26-year-old midfielder scored three goals and provided three assists in 45 Championship matches for the Royals this season, according to WhoScored.
Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership title this season, but Brighton are an established club in the Premier League and could be very appealing to the midfielder.
