The France international has also been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.
Mandanda has left Marseille following the expiry of his contract
Crystal Palace are in advanced talks to sign France goalkeeper Steve Mandanda despite interest from Everton and Villarreal, L’Equipe reports.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Mandanda this summer (Guardian), after the 31-year-old left Marseille on a free transfer.
However, with Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic to compete with at Stamford Bridge, Mandanda may opt for a club where first team football is more readily available.
Courtois could be difficult to displace
And though Palace have three senior keepers on their books, question marks remain over the futures of Wayne Hennessey and Alex McCarthy in particular, with the pair struggling to convince last term.
Everton, however, have the most pressing need to sign a new number 1, after Tim Howard returned to the United States with Colorado Rapids.
The Toffees have again been linked with a move for Newcastle United’s Tim Krul this weekend (Chonicle).
Krul’s fellow countryman Ronald Koeman recently took over at Everton
L’Equipe reports the Eagles have a long-standing interest in Mandanda, whose future, it says, could well be decided by the end of Euro 2016.
The Congo-born shot-stopper was named Ligue 1’s player of the year in each of the past two campaigns and four times overall.
