Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to bring Steve Hitchen back to the club.
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are set to re-appoint Steve Hitchen to their scouting department – nine years after he played a part in the club signing Luka Modric.
Spurs may have landed some top young talent in recent years, such as Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, but they appear to be making changes to their scouting department.

Now, Tottenham are reportedly set to make an addition to their scouting ranks, as Sky Sports report that Steve Hitchen is set for a surprise return to White Hart Lane.
General View of White Hart Lane
Hitchen, 40, has already had one spell with the club, and allegedly played a major part in Tottenham’s decision to sign midfielder Luka Modric from Dinamo Zagreb back in 2008 – a move that paid dividends as Spurs not only saw the Croatian impress in North London, but then sold him on for major profit to Real Madrid.
Hitchen left Spurs during Harry Redknapp’s time with the club, moving on to Liverpool where he is believed to have advised the Reds to sign Luis Suarez from Ajax; another player sold for major profit, though it was to Barcelona in his case.
Most recently, Hitchen was working as co-head of recruitment at Derby County but left Pride Park after Nigel Pearson’s departure earlier this season, and he’s now on the verge of a move back to Tottenham.

The report adds that Tottenham will still pursue another recruitment guru to replace Mitchell, whose notice period could last until the end of this year unless Spurs find a suitable replacement.
