Newcastle United are still pushing ahead to sign the attacker from Nice, according to reports.

Newcastle have been linked with Saint-Maximin for much of the transfer window so far, but have failed to get a deal done.
Rafael Benitez had his doubts over signing Saint-Maximin, and Bruce is similarly sceptical.
New Newcastle boss Bruce has reportedly been given some feedback about Saint-Maximin which isn’t particularly positive from his contacts.
Lee Charnley is still said to be pushing ahead with the transfer though, as he feels that attacker could be an excellent addition for Newcastle.

Saint-Maximin is still only 22, so if he was to catch fire in the Premier League he would have a lot of re-sale value.
If Saint-Maximin does join Newcastle he would offer Bruce more pace up-front and could increase their goal threat.
However, it seems that the Magpies boss will have to be won over by the youngster in training.
