According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are targeting Steve Bruce as their next manager as he will be a bigger force in the dressing room than Roberto di Matteo.
The Villans sacked the Italian last week after just 12 games in charge since taking over in the summer.
He managed just one win in that time, leaving the club just two points clear of the Championship relegation zone.

Bruce has emerged as the favourite for the position with his experience of getting teams out of the division thought to be a key factor.
The Daily Mail reports that is the case but also claim that it is his personality that is leaning Tony Xia to name him as their next boss.
According to the newspaper, the Villa chairman will take a more forceful approach in the dressing room than Di Matteo’s laid back manner.

The Villans are willing to back Bruce with his own backroom staff and one man they may approach is Manchester United youth coach Warren Joyce.
The 51-year-old has played a key role in developing a series of youngsters at Old Trafford over the years and recently survived the club’s shake up of its youth setup.
The Daily Mail report describes him as something of a man motivator and perhaps it is the key factor that makes him a target for Bruce should he take charge at Villa Park.
