Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce wants to make his backline much stronger this summer.

Steve Bruce the manager of Newcastle United looks on during a pre-season friendly match between Preston North End and Newcastle United at Deepdale on July 27, 2019 in Preston, England.

According to the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is still looking for two full-backs this summer.

Newcastle broke their transfer record on Joelinton soon after Bruce took over, but their progress has stalled since.

Newcastle fans are now becoming concerned that they are going to be left short ahead of the season starting, but Bruce does have plans to bolster his squad.

The experienced boss wants at least one full-back, but he could bring in two before the campaign begins.

If Newcastle do strengthen at left-back and right-back they could have a very impressive backline, as Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar and Martin Dubravka have all proven themselves as excellent performers.

Newcastle begin their campaign next weekend with a match against Arsenal at St. James’ Park.
