Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij is reportedly planning to leave the club.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij won’t sign a new deal and could walk away for nothing in 2018, with Tottenham touted as a possible destination.
De Vrij, 25, came up through the ranks with Feyenoord having joined the club at the age of just 10, and he went on to become a key player at De Kuip.

The centre back made over 150 appearances for the Rotterdam club before joining Lazio in 2014, having impressed under Louis van Gaal at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Whilst he missed the majority of the 2015-16 season through injury, the Dutch international has returned to prove his quality in Serie A – but he appears to be planning an escape route from Lazio.
Tutto Mercato Web report that De Vrij is refusing to sign a new deal with the Rome-based club in a bid to leave the Stadio Olimpico, and with his contract expiring in 2018, he may well leave for free.
The report names three interested teams; Chelsea, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur, with Serie A champions Juve possibly the favourites to land him on a free transfer in a year’s time.

De Vrij possesses a great reading of the game as well as an ability to play out from the back, and at just 25, it’s no surprise that clubs are lining up to sign him – despite his injury woes.
He would be a superb addition to Tottenham’s back line alongside Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, though fans may fear that De Vrij is being eyed up as a possible alternative to Alderweireld should he fail to sign a new contract, but they will face major competition for De Vrij’s signature.
