According to The Scottish Sun, Neil Lennon has reassured Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths that he can still have a future at the club.
It’s claimed that Griffiths has been omitted from the Celtic squad for a pre-season trip to France this week, because he isn’t in good enough shape.
The 29-year-old will now miss key friendlies against Lyon, Nice and Paris Saint-Germain in order to stay back in Scotland and work on his fitness.
That has resulted in many wondering whether Griffiths could be moved on if Lennon isn’t convinced by his fitness, but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
Lennon has allegedly told Griffiths that he can still be a key player this upcoming season as long as he gets his head down and gets himself fit.
Lennon seemingly isn’t impressed with Griffiths and his condition having returned from lockdown, but the striker is determined to prove himself again.

Celtic are allegedly searching for a new striker, but more as competition for Odsonne Edouard rather than as a replacement for Griffiths.
The Scot hit 11 goals and four assists in 31 games last season, and was forming a strong partnership with Edouard, but must now fight to claim a key role in the Celtic side.
