Aston Villa are reportedly pursuing a deal for Leroy Fer.

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa’s move for Swansea City ace Leroy Fer will be a permanent one if it goes though tonight.
Villa added a third signing of the January transfer window earlier today, bringing in defender Tyrone Mings on loan from Bournemouth.
Mings joins goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic and defender Kortney Hause at Villa Park, and Dean Smith remains in the market for another central midfielder.
A host of names have been linked, but the latest one in the frame is Swansea City’s Leroy Fer, with Villa chasing his signature in the final hours of the window.
The Daily Mail report that Villa want a permanent deal for the Dutch international, with two reasons suggested in the report.
The first is that Fer’s Swansea deal expires at the end of the season, so it gives Swansea a chance to offload him whilst getting a fee, and a loan move wouldn’t help Villa as they already have five loanees.

Villa will now attempt to convince Swansea into a deal, with Swans boss Graham Potter allegedly preferring that Fer stays at the Liberty Stadium beyond tonight’s deadline.
Fer, 29, has hit 10 goals in 89 games for Swansea, and may be eyed up for a deeper role in Smith’s 4-3-3 system at Villa.
