Tottenham have snapped up midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Tanguy Ndombele of Tottenham Hotspur signs a contract at Enfield Training Centre on July 02, 2019 in Enfield, England.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Tanguy Ndombele will be earning a huge £200,000-a-week after completing his move to North London.

It’s been a long wait for Spurs fans in terms of new signings, as they went 517 days without seeing their club sign anybody, but Jack Clarke and Ndombele both arrived on Tuesday.

The signing of Ndombele has really got people talking. Tottenham have shattered their transfer record to sign Ndombele, with the deal totalling around £65million, and it’s the real statement signing fans have been waiting for.

Some still can’t quite believe that the 22-year-old France international has joined Spurs, but it’s very real now – and details are emerging about his contract.

It’s stated that Ndombele will be earning a huge £200,000-a-week including bonuses at Spurs, making him one of the highest earners in the club’s history.

When Spurs confirmed the deal, they announced that Ndombele had signed until 2025, penning a six-year deal. However, this report claims it’s actually a five-year deal, with a clause in the contract to extend the deal by a year if Tottenham wish to do so.

That may well be handy in the future for Spurs, as they’ll either be able to keep Ndombele for an extra year, retaining his value if clubs come calling for his signature in a few years, or cut ties with him early if he completely flops.

The latter seems incredibly unlikely, but at least Tottenham have some flexibility down the line. Spurs fans just have to hope that activating that option doesn’t make a release clause appear, as has been the case with Toby Alderweireld.
