Everton are reportedly set for more talks with Marco Silva this week.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri isn’t worried about appointing Marco Silva despite a potential wrangle with Watford.
The Toffees sacked manager Sam Allardyce last summer, meaning Moshiri is searching for another manager following a third departure in two years.
Whilst a number of names have been linked with the job, Marco Silva remains the most prominent given that he was the top choice to replace Ronald Koeman back in October and November.
Watford stood firm and kept the Portuguese boss at the time, but then sacked him in January after a poor run of results, leaving him on the scrapheap just months after being targeted by Everton.
Now, with Silva still available, Everton are preparing their new move for the former Hull boss, but the Daily Mail report that Watford have made a formal complaint to the Premier League about the Toffees’ approach of Silva.
However, it’s stated that Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri isn’t concerned about the potential controversy, and is ready to hand Silva the job regardless.
Talks continue between Everton and Watford over a potential compensation fee to settle the matter, whilst further negotiations between Everton and Silva are also imminent as a deal seemingly looks close.
