Leeds United are set to snap up attacker Rafa Mujica.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are set to sign Barcelona B attacker Rafa Mujica – but will put him into their Under-23’s.
Mujica, 20, spent last season featuring regularly for Barcelona B in the third tier of Spanish football, notching seven goals and one assist in 33 games.
The Spaniard looks to have an exciting future, but it won’t be with Barcelona, as his contract expires today, and he will then join Leeds.
We covered claims from Zona Amarilla in Spain earlier this week that Mujica was nearing his move to Elland Road, quashing claims that hometown club Las Palmas had made a late move.
It now seems that Leeds are indeed set to secure a deal, and their plan will be to send him into the Under-23’s rather than straight into Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
That’s probably a smart move. The step up from third tier of Spain to second tier of England would be huge, especially for a young player in his first move away from his country.

Getting him into the Under-23’s under a Spanish coach in Carlos Corberan alongside compatriots Oriol Rey and Alex Machuca seems like the perfect way to bed him into life at Elland Road.
Add in that another former Barcelona talent is there in Kun Temenuzhkov, and this seems like the ideal move from Leeds, and they’ll be hoping to see Mujica thrive enough to fast-track him into their first team this coming season.
