According to Football.London, there is a belief at Tottenham Hotspur that this is arguably the best Spurs squad in decades.

It’s claimed that the club did almost everything they wanted to do in the summer window, with a centre back the only missing piece.

That could still be rectified with a deal for Joe Rodon, but people inside the club allegedly feel this is an incredibly strong Tottenham squad.

In fact, the report notes that some even agree with what Harry Redknapp said on deadline day, when he claimed that Tottenham could challenge for the title this season.

Redknapp was derided for those comments given that Spurs finished sixth last season and current sit sixth again after four games.

However, there was no mocking of Redknapp inside Tottenham, as some share his belief that this Spurs squad could really push for major silverware this season.

Jose Mourinho now has two players competing in every position, having conducted very impressive summer transfer business.

He has two new full backs in Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon, a battling midfielder in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, star power in the returning Gareth Bale, finally new competition up top in Carlos Vinicius and a backup goalkeeper who has won the Premier League in Joe Hart.

Spurs have looked impressive in recent games, especially in the 6-1 drubbing of Manchester United before the international break, and maybe – just maybe – a great season is on the cards for Tottenham, with club staff seemingly confident.
