According to the Daily Mail, Steve Bruce’s transfer wish list may not match with what the Newcastle United hierarchy have planned this summer.
Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick is set to sign on a free transfer, but Newcastle fans may be in for a frustrating summer.
They thought the club would be taken over this summer, enabling the club to splash the cash on big-name signings.
Instead, the takeover has fallen through and agents believe that Newcastle are mostly looking for loan signings – and don’t plan to pay the full wages involved.
Additionally, Bruce’s wish list of targets may not mesh with that the club want to do, as the Magpies seemingly plan to limit spending this summer.
Bruce wants Chris Smalling and Callum Wilson, but it seems unlikely that Newcastle will fund moves for either player as things stand.

This will be hugely disappointing for fans, who want to see Newcastle move forward rather than scramble for frees and loans this summer.
The global pandemic is of course a huge factor here, as many clubs will be frugal in the transfer market, but supporters will be hoping that Bruce’s relationship with the club doesn’t become strained by a lack of support in the transfer market.
