According to The London Evening Standard, Joe Hart is ‘confident’ that he will receive playing time at Tottenham Hotspur this coming season.
It’s claimed that Hart is set to complete a medical with Tottenham and sign a ‘short-term deal’ in North London.
The 33-year-old is a free agent having left Burnley this summer, and he finally looks to have found himself a new club.
Spurs released Michel Vorm this summer, so Hart can now slot in as veteran cover behind Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga.
Tottenham crucially needed an English goalkeeper to free up foreign spots elsewhere, and that’s what signing Hart will do.
Now though, Hart allegedly thinks he will play first-team games at Tottenham this season rather than simply being third-choice, which will raise the question over Gazzaniga.

The Argentinian was a favourite of Mauricio Pochettino, but hardly disgraced himself under Mourinho when Lloris was out injured.
Gazzaniga is 28 now, and whilst Vorm didn’t pose a threat to him, Hart certainly does, leaving the ex-Southampton man to sweat over his spot as second-choice stopper.
If Hart leapfrogs him in the pecking order, few would blame Gazzaniga for fancying a move away, and it may well head that way given that Hart thinks he will be playing cup games for Spurs.
