According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool insiders think imminent signing Ben Davies looks to be ideal for Jurgen Klopp’s style.
It’s claimed that Liverpool are paying just £500,000 up front to sign Davies, with an additional £1.1million in add-ons and a 20% sell-on clause for Preston.
Fans have been left pretty surprised by the move, as Davies has been somewhat unheralded in the Championship despite consistently superb displays.
If anyone was confused as to why Liverpool wanted Davies, then this report explains some of it, with club insiders feeling he has the pace and composure on the ball to play in Klopp’s high defensive line.
Liverpool were allegedly ‘struck’ by how good Davies was in the Championship, believing him to be a sensible signing in a key position.
The 25-year-old is far from a big name and has no experience above the Championship, but this looks to be a superb move from Liverpool.

Davies is left-footed, quick, calm and reads the game well, meaning he could prove to be valuable homegrown depth for the Reds.
If he can’t make the step up, Liverpool will almost certainly make a considerable profit on Davies, who is now close to completing a dream move to Anfield.
