According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish will reject a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer if they make any attempt to sign him.

Villa won promotion to the Premier League on Monday, beating Derby County 2-1 in the Championship playoff final at Wembley Stadium.

Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn scored the goals to fire Villa back to the top flight, and whilst the celebrations are ongoing, there will be plans made behind the scenes for the summer window.

Part of the plans will be to keep playmaker Grealish, and with promotion to the Premier League, they should be able to do that without much concern.

Sky Sports note that Tottenham were planning to make a move for Grealish if Villa missed out on promotion, but the man himself will reject Spurs if they decide to make a move for him after all.

Spurs wanted Grealish last summer, offering up to £25million, but the takeover of Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris meant Villa were able to keep their hero and send Tottenham packing.

Grealish is unlikely to leave his boyhood club just after returning to the Premier League, and with a clear stance that he’ll reject Mauricio Pochettino’s Champions League finalists, it seems Spurs would be wasting their time with any bid for the midfielder.
