Newcastle United striker Yoshinori Muto hasn’t featured much this season.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United’s Yoshinori Muto is being used sparingly after being instructed to improve his English.
The Magpies were in the market for striking additions over the summer, bringing in Salomon Rondon on loan from West Bromwich Albion in a move which has paid off so far.
Some fans may have already forgotten that Newcastle did sign another striker though, bringing in Japanese international Muto from Mainz.
After eight goals and two assists last season as well as a strong World Cup with Japan, many were encouraged by Muto’s arrival at St James’ Park.
However, the 26-year-old has started just five Premier League games this season, and has appeared just three times since the end of October, scoring only one goal this term.
Muto did go off to the Asian Cup to play with Japan, but it’s fair to say that he hasn’t really kicked on since scoring against Manchester United in October.

Now, The Chronicle report that one of the reasons Muto has been left out is because his English isn’t quite good enough yet, and has been instructed to improve in that area.
It’s stated that Chancel Mbemba struggled for playing time under Rafael Benitez for similar reasons, so Muto needs to make huge improvements in his ability to communicate with teammates in order to play more regularly.
