Jaden Philogene-Bidace is prioritising a new contract at Aston Villa despite reported interest from RB Leipzig and Club Brugge, as reported by Het Laaste Nieuws.
It seems Julian Nagelsmann’s Bundesliga giants haven’t been put off by the difficulties endured by Emile Smith-Rowe, Ethan Ampadu and Ademola Lookman (at least second time around) at the Red Bull Arena.
Because, according to the Daily Mail, Leipzig have their sights firmly fixed on another exciting young Brit – Aston Villa’s 18-year-old wing wizard.
Philogene-Bidace is very highly rated at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath base and has been training regularly with Dean Smith’s first-team squad in recent weeks (Birmingham Mail).
Clearly the Midland giants have high hopes for a young man who has scored five times in ten Premier League 2 matches this season.
But with his contract due to expire in just five months, there’s a chance Philogene-Bidace could be going the way of Marc Albrighton rather than Jack Grealish.

Club Brugge, Belgian league champions in 2020, are also interested, identifying Philogene-Bidace as a potential replacement for Krepin Diatta, who joined Monaco in a £15 million deal last week (Sky).
It seems Aston Villa can breath a sigh of relief, however.
Philogene-Bidace’s preference is to sign a new deal at Dean Smith’s high-flying side. And that will be music to the ears of all those inside Villa Park who believe he’s the real deal.
